1. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meet the Archie crew.

Year published: 1991

Convoluted plot: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrive in Riverdale after being spit out by a giant intergalactic cow head (yes, for real).

2. Spider-Man vs. Powdered Toast Man.

Year published: 1993

Convoluted plot: Spider-Man must bring Powdered Toast Man back to the good side again after he is turned evil by Dr. Donut.

3. Spider-Man and the cast of SNL

Year published: 1978

Convoluted plot: Peter Parker and MJ attended a taping of Saturday Night Live — which is coincidentally being hosted by Stan Lee. While at the taping the show is taken hostage by the Silver Samurai and it’s up to Spider-Man and the SNL cast (?!) to apprehend him.

4. The Avengers meet David Letterman.

Via ugo.com

Year published: 1983

Convoluted plot: For some reason the Avengers decide to do the late night talk show circuit and I guess their first stop is Late Night With David Letterman.

5. G.I. Joe meet the Transformers.

Year published: 1986

Convoluted plot: Judging by the cover, it’s not so much meeting as killing the Transformers (RIP Bumble Bee).

6. Superman fights Muhammad Ali.

Year published: 1978

Convoluted plot: Muhammad Ali and Superman team-up to fight against an alien invasion of Earth.

7. Transformers meet Bruce Springsteen.

Year published: 1986

Convoluted plot: OK, so it’s not really Bruce, it’s a totally different singer named Brick Springhorn — who’s known for his hit songs “Born in America” and “Dancing in the Night”

After the Decepticons try to hijack his concert it’s up to the Autobots to save Brick and his fans.

8. Batman and the Beatles.

Year published: 1970

Convoluted plot: Batman and Robin investigate whether Saul (*cough* Paul McCartney *cough*) from the band The Oliver Twists (*cough* the Beatles *cough*) is really dead and replaced with a look alike.

9. Jerry Lewis and Batman.

Year published: 1966

Convoluted plot: Batman and Robin must save Jerry Lewis before he is murdered by the Joker.

10. Charles Barkley battles Godzilla.

Year published: 1993

Convoluted plot: I have no idea, but it is probably a better plot line than the 1998 Godzilla movie.

Also, why is Charles Barkley almost as big as Godzilla?

11. Superman and the Quick Bunny.

Year published: 1987

Convoluted plot: Superman and the Quik Bunny (I really don’t know how he is supposed to help) team-up to fight against and evil weather monster.

This was truly a low point for Superman.

12. Archie and the Punisher.

Year published: 1994

Convoluted plot: The Punisher comes to Riverdale in order to hunt down a dangerous drug lord, who just happens to look a lot like Archie (I’m sure hilarity ensues).
